Player Evaluations
The focus of Player Evaluations is to offer the most positive experience possible to the player. Evaluations are designed to review each player's skill sets. Evaluations will then guide coaches when working individually with players. It helps the club to plan & offer future training sessions, such as NASC or goalkeeper training, based on player needs. Evaluations are also used for consideration to players who wish to play-up an age group to a primary team or sub on a secondary team.
Player evaluations guide the Travel Coordinator and Age Group Commissioner to balance teams based on age & skill, and determine skill-division of each team to place them in the appropriate league every season.
To learn which age group applies for your player, check the PA-West Age Chart, below:
AGE GROUP BREAKDOWN
At the beginning of Fall season, players may shift into older age group categories based on their birthdate, as posted by PA-West. Age group breakdowns remain the same from Fall to Spring soccer seasons. Team groupings are as follows: U10 (9-10yrs), U12 (11-12yrs), U14 (13-14yrs), U16 (15-16yrs), U19 (16-19).

MASC Travel Team Program & Philosophy
PA-West Soccer Association governs MASC travel teams. PA-West classifies, organizes and oversees all travel leagues within its districts.
PA-West is geographically partitioned in seven districts. Mars Area falls under District 3. Also known as PA-West WEST. District 3 carries about 17 soccer clubs. PA-West determines how many leagues are formed in District 3, guided by number of teams declared in each club and the team skill level. Leagues have a minimum of four teams and can change from season to season.
About 50% of games are played at home and 50% of games are played away. MASC teams may travel to Freeport, Knoch, Prospect, New Castle, Beaver, or any of the other District 3 clubs noted on the "PA-West WEST" website, should those clubs have teams in the same travel league & division. MASC Travel teams play on Sunday, with games starting from 1:00PM to allow for church hours. Games are not played on nationally declared holidays such as Memorial Day Wknd.
PA-West guarantees a minimum 6-week game schedule. For District 3, eight weeks are scheduled to allow "cushion" in the event that cancellations due to weather or such might occur during the regular season.
MASC Mission: A positive experience, fair and equal play time, and player development are of utmost importance at MASC Club. Also, as stated in the club By-Laws, Article V, Section 2-1, the philosophy of the travel program is to emphasize competition, rather than recreational (InHouse), with team standings based on game losses and wins.
Player's Mission: All Travel teams are dependent on their collective players to succeed. Each team member plays an intregal part to the positive experience of the whole. Players being rostered to a travel team are expected to give a higher level of commitment to both coaches and their team players, are expected to arrive in a timely manner, communicate with their coaches and team for any issues which may affect the team, and abide to the by-laws that govern our club to ensure a safe and great season for all.

SECURITY
